An Open Letter to Distinguished Senator George Akume, the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Leader of the APC in Benue State On The APC State Chairmanship zoning to Zone C.
Today being the 21 September, 2021 is revered as the International Peace Day and one of the very special dates in the United Nations Calendar.
Peace is not the absence of turbulence but a state of Calmness despite all all the storm.
The Zoning of the APC State Chairmanship to Zone C had in the previous days generated allot of opinions, some were protagonists of the zoning while others were antagonists of the decision.
It is worthy to note however that the duel were all sons and daughters of zone C.
Considering the electoral act as amended and the clear distinction of political parties as the vehicle for all political aspiration, one thing is clear; the supremacy of the party above all other interests.
The micro zoning approach of your party with the sole aim of eliminating friction and heating up the already heated up system by security and other sundry issues is worthy of commendation.
This micro zoning approach has delivered the emergence of a younger political generation in the emergence of Comrade Austin Agada as State Chairman in waiting.
Despite not being an affiliate of the APC in any form, I wish to state unequivocally that Comrade Austin Agada has the requisite capacity to administer firm and purposeful leadership at the level of a State Chairman.
While appreciating the fact that your party decision has thrown open and era for a younger generation political emergence.
I wish to humble remind you of the interest of the zone C people in the governorship ticket of your party the APC.
I have decided to believe the fact that the zoning of the Chairmanship of party to zone C is not aimed at tactically shrinking the possibilities of candidates from the zone clinching the 2023 Governorship ticket but a way of balancing power internally in your party the APC.
I wish to appeal to your ever liberal heart, that your Combination with the youthful Chairman in waiting Comrade Austin Agada can deliver to the Idoma nation your promise as an out going Governor in 2007 to the Idoma people.
As young people we wish to also appeal that nothing will ever be too much for the Benue People as we have played significant roles right from the civil war in defending the sovereignty of this nation; a fit we are still doing in our today’s democratic Nigeria.
We wish to appeal in the Spirit of the season that you through your good office good will to our dear state regardless of the varying political lines so as to ensure that “the labour of our heroes past ” is never in vain.
We believe as a people that the end will justify the means and look forward to zone C clinching the ticket of your party ahead of the 2023 polls.
Amangla A wet u! Aluta Continua!
