We want to appriciate the effort of the various groups that have been agitating for the right of the people of Benue Zone C to produce the next Governor of Benue State.
We are all agitating for what is rightly our turn where fairness, equity and justice reigns. History now seats on our laps and as the umbrella body and the leading Social-Cultural association in zone C, This has become a big challange to all if us. It is clearly treasonable to remain silent in a time like this. It is time for all of us to rise and work delicatedly and faithfully in the efforts to advance the best prospects to achieve the right destiny for our zone. I am if the film believe that this is the time for us to move forward positively towards achieving this single most important goal of producing the next governor of Benue State from Zone C senatorial district.
Our approach will be largely diplomacy , dialogue and negotiation. To talk if marginalization of zone C in the political equation in Benue State is to say the least. Since the creation of Benue State in 1976, particularly under the Democratic setting FEOM the second republic till date, five governors have governed the state and they are all from the TIV tribe of Zone A and B. In a state of multiple tribe as Benue State, this practice is devoid of fairness , equity, and justice. The governor include –
Mr. Aper Aku —- ———1979-1983
Brig. Gen. Atom Korea –1984-1985
Rev.Fr.Moses Adasu —–1992-1993
Mr. George Akume ———-1999-2007
Barr. Gabriel Suswan ——2007-2015
Dr. Samuel Ortom ———2015 to Day
Our commitment to the cause of Zone producing the next governor of Benue State is a task for every Son and Daughter from zone C with the support of well meaning people from both Zone A and B
As we all start to make individual and group efforts in our little ways, these effort will add up and there is no going back. Leadership is taking risk to do what others not willing to do. It is not about age or experience, it is about the will to change the situation . So let us come together to claim what is rightly ours and free our people from some self acclaimed owners of the state enterprise which is our collective patrimony.
Note:No Benue State indigene is more Benue State than other Benue State indigenes.
