PRAGMATISM, OUR QUICK RESPONE LEADER IS PERFORMING ON THE FLOOR OF GREEN CHAMBER

The law maker Representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency of Benue, Hon. Samuel Odagboyi Godday has raised a motion of urgent important on the floor of the house on the recent disastrous explosions of two different tankers conveying petroleum products along Otukpo-Oweto-Abuja road precisely at Oshigbudu community in Agatu Local Government Area.
The incidents which occurred on the 18th and 20th of April, 2021 respectively have left the entire Agatu nation and Benue State at large in deep sorrow and mourning.
No fewer than twelve persons lost their lives with properties worth hundreds of millions including business premises destroyed leaving hundreds homeless and jobless.
Recall that the Honourable Member was at Oshigbudu community on Monday 19th April, 2021 for on-the-spot assessment of the level of damages and as well commiserate with the victims and entire Oshigbudu community. During the visit, the Reps Member made cash donations to help cushion the effect of the inferno on the victims.
Notwithstanding, in the course of his legislative duties, the Honourable Member raised a motion of urgent important on the floor of the house, requesting the house to take actions in the following areas;
- To commiserate with the people of Oshigbudu community in Agatu LGA and indeed the Government and the people of Benue State over the unfortunate disaster
- To urge the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), other relief agencies and philanthropists to provide the necessary interventions to the affected members of the community.
- Call on the Federal Fire Service to immediately establish a fire service station within the Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency to curtail such incidents in the future; this fire station will serve other local government areas of Benue South including neighboring Nasarawa State.
- Urge the Federal Minist.
