The lagos state commissioner for waterfront infrastructure development, Hon. Arc. Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi, today, demonstrated what a true leader and representative of a people should be identified with as he showed great spirit of emphaty and compassion, culminating in the pardon of defaulted street traders albeit with a strict warning for them to ensure a repeat of the offence for which they were cautioned did not happen.
Leading the team on a save our soul mission to the commissioner was, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, the chairman of the chieftaincy council of arewa community alimosho local government, on an entourage that included, Mallam Nuhu Alhassan, the sarki of ikotun land, Alhaji Sani Bulama, wambai of seventeen southern states of Nigeria, Ibrahim A. Jagaba, secretary of the council and chairman of the Arewa United Group of the APC in the great alimosho government, to mention a few.
Receiving the visiting team, the Hon. commissioner, immediately swung into action, establishing the needed contact with the S.A to the Lagos state governor on transport, Hon. Fayinka Moses Oluwatoyin, leading to a relieving solution of the impasse.
Responding on behalf of the visiting team, the secretary of the council who is also the chairman of the Arewa United Group of the APC in alimosho LGA, thanked Hon. Arc. Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi and by extension the S.A on transport for exemplifying true compassion without compromising the place of discipline and obedience to extant laws and directives of the government.
This intervention and relief as brokered by the Hon.commissioner in alliance with the relevant offices of the Lagos state government, represents a great saving of a drowning assembly of traders and the leader and face of the Arewa community Lagos state has just proven again that, he is indeed relentless in the efforts to always come handy in matters of the Arewas in the state, sarki asserted.
We will make sure, our people imbibe and continue to improve their culture of compliance with government directives on street trading by always drawing their attention to extant prohibitions, using tailor made communication process he added, as he called on the Hon.commissioner to keep up the good work.
The pair of compassion and emphaty as held in very high esteem in the words of the state governor, his excellency Mr Babajide Sanwoolu, truly played out here and the entire Arewa community Lagos state share in this honor and privilege, the leader of the delegation concluded.
